Welcome to Nautilus Retreats

Retreat Coach Linda Potter, M.A. of Nautilus Retreats designs and leads group or one-on-one retreats for women, non-profit organizations, and businesses. A former non-profit executive and development consultant, Linda now actively pursues a life of intention working with women and local organizations to build community in Northern New York where she lives with her family and enjoys kayaking, running & hiking. Nautilus Retreats day and weekend retreats are held at the family cottage, “The North Shore.” A short drive from Canton, it is a world away from the busy pace of our everyday lives. A perfect setting for quiet contemplation and honest discussions. Loons, pine trees and great views of the lake are waiting for you at your retreat. Linda’s home in Canton is the setting for most of the mini-retreats. The beautiful woodwork of this 100 year old house, along with the candles and warm colors of the room create a sacred space for you to gather with others to connect and slow down. It truly is a retreat space that beckons you to enter and stay awhile.

About Your Retreat Coach Linda Potter

Since taking my first solo retreat in 2000, I have believed passionately in the power of retreats. Not only for the ability to relax and renew but also for how this time away can re-energize and transform your life.

Retreat is about remembering who you are. Nautilus Retreats are about slowing down, asking gentle questions, connecting with others and rediscovering your inner wisdom.

Somehow our lives have gotten so busy we have lost our way. We move from work to meetings to errands so fast that we have lost touch with ourselves and what is truly important in our lives. Those dreams we once had get put on the shelf as we say “someday, someday...”. But that day will never arrive until you begin to live your life intentionally and learn to create balance between the demands others place on you and the necessity of caring for yourself.

In my retreat practice, I find this is especially true for women. From a young age, women are taught and praised for nurturing and caring for others. But few women have been taught how to care for themselves with the same tenderness that they show toward family and friends. At Nautilus Retreats, I help women explore ways to bring healthy self care into their lives and realize that nurturing their bodies, souls and dreams is the best way for them to develop the inner strength and love needed to care for others.

Throughout the year, I offer several day and mini retreats at my home in Canton or our family cottage on Trout Lake in Hermon, New York. If being in a group doesn’t work for you or if your work schedule doesn’t allow you to attend an evening or weekend retreat, then consider a one-on-one retreat. Working with your ideas, I will design a one day retreat or a series of mini-retreats to meet your needs. It could also be a series of lunch hour walks or weekend hikes with guided discussion or meeting at your home over coffee. Whatever form you choose, we can craft the opportunity to slow down and talk about what is truly important to your life. All you need to do is to take the first step and schedule your retreat by contacting me at (315) 386-4364 or nautilus@twncy.rr.com.

COACHING

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

Retreats are group coaching where you share experiences and learn from other individuals and use that knowledge to help you create the life you want.

Personal coaching is one-on-one with you as the client and me as your coach. In a coaching relationship, I am there to help you outline the steps you are willing to take to obtain the goals that you set. I am there to be your coach, the person by your side, and to guide you with powerful questions to examine your obstacles and hold you accountable to your actions. We set goals, examine your progress, discuss options to keep you moving.

Coaching session generally last an hour and can take place in my office, while on a walk, at a local coffee shop or any other location where you feel comfortable.

I support you as an individual to listen deeply to yourself and find the steps you need to inspire you to reach your goals. Within a session, I there to listen, give feedback, help you reflect and find new perspectives, and offer my wisdom and experience. One-on-one coaching is a concentrated, revelatory experience and propels many individuals to new levels of satisfaction in their lives.

First session is free and subsequent sessions are $50/hour. To explore if one-on-one coaching is right for you, contact Linda at nautilus@twcny.rr.com or 315-386-4364.

CUSTOMIZED GROUP RETREATS

Make the time in your personal and work life to slow down, listen to your inner voice and reclaim your dreams. Retreat Coach Linda Potter will work with you to design a customized retreat to meet your needs.

A customized retreat can be a one hour brown bag lunch retreat with your co-workers or a day retreat for your staff to rejuvenate and relax. You can use a retreat to make girls’ night out or a girls’ weekend getaway a more authentic sharing experience. Create a retreat with Linda to mark a milestone birthday for yourself or a friend. Organize one for mothers and daughters. Hold a family reunion around a customized retreat. Use it as time set aside to mark an anniversary with thoughtful reflection. It can be just for you or for a group of co-workers, friends or family. It can last for an hour or a weekend. You get to choose and work with Linda to design a customized retreat to allow you to slow down and listen to your inner wisdom.

Your customized retreat can be held at Linda’s home in Canton or her family cottage on Trout Lake or any other location you desire (B&B, conference center, your home or office, on a hike, at a beach – use your imagination!).

To schedule your customized retreat, contact Linda at (315) 386-4364 or nautilus@twncy.rr.com.
